If someone is in immediate danger
Call 999. For a non-emergency police response, use the South Yorkshire Police online reporting route. Take any immediate action needed to protect the person.
Tell ICCare
Raise the concern with the senior person on duty straight away. You can also reach ICCare management through our Contact us page. State that it is a safeguarding concern, but do not send detailed sensitive information until a secure route has been agreed.
Independent routes
- For a child at risk, use Sheffield City Council’s child safeguarding route.
- For an adult with care and support needs at risk, use Sheffield’s adult safeguarding route.
- Concerns about registered childcare can also be raised with Ofsted.
What happens next?
We record concerns, protect evidence, share information on a need-to-know basis and follow the relevant safeguarding and notification pathway. We do not promise confidentiality where somebody may be at risk, but we handle information carefully and proportionately.
